Product Details

Characteristics:

N-vinylpyrrolidone (NVP) is a key reactive monomer in the synthesis of PVP and its copolymers. It is chemically reactive and requires storage at low temperatures and in the dark, with the addition of polymerization inhibitors (such as NaOH or hydroquinone) to prevent self-polymerization.

Uses:

Its almost sole use is as a monomer for producing PVP homopolymers of varying molecular weights via free radical polymerization, or for copolymerizing with other monomers (such as vinyl acetate and acrylic acid).
